Don’t save the best for last!

Why should you save the best for last?

Not at this state of the game.

Music artistes are up and running.  Individuals are raising the bar.  They want to outdo each other, get on the big league and definitely make more money.  Players want to get more recognition and acceptance; hence they churn out new ideas, and new music.  They do all these to get noticed and aid sales of their music and brand.

And here you are saving what you call your ‘best music’ or ‘idea’ till when you say is the perfect time.  Is there ever a perfect time?

If you have a plan to launch a new music brand or your music project for the first time, well, that’s a different thing. Even with that, you can’t take too long cooking this delicious mealsic of yours.  Do not let the era of the idea or music pass.

Always remember that you are a music artiste- you do music. You validate yourself with the music you release and how often you release them. You are also an entertainer.  If you don’t entertain or offer music as often as you should, other than what competition does, then you might begin to lose your fans and brand value.

Fans don’t know you are cooking something unless you let them know that.
What if what you claim is ‘best’ is just good enough compared to what some other music brand releases?

Here a few good reasons why you should not sit your butts on your Ideas, claiming you are saving it for a perfect time when you would pull the joker on the current hot MC and surprise the market.

The market is not biased.  They want music.  They want to be entertained. They want to be brandbooozled.   Your job is to release it and get it to them.

Once they get your music and your message, if they like what they hear, they’ll respond.

Competition is stiff
And it keeps getting stiffer and stiffer.

Remember this golden thought. “If you are not out there promoting your music, someone else is out there promoting their music”. There is a tremendous amount of competition out there.

Music people keep raising standards like no man’s business and trying new ideas with no hesitation. So you can’t afford to be tight handed with your CD of goodies unless you are not ready to launch your music project.   But if you are out there already, please do the market a pleasure of having your ‘best’ music on the proper media channels. They’ll reward you with acceptance and patronage, if indeed your music is the ‘best’.

Don’t worry, more inspiration will come, and they’ll be better and more sophisticated.

Ideas Fly

New Ideas are the engine of society

Thought are things and they fly.  Sometimes, when you have an idea and probably still nurturing it in your heart, you could sometimes discover someone else has that same idea and is probably implementing already.  It also happens when it comes to music.  People have music ideas and concepts that are like the one you have and are hoarding.   The issue of beats, lyrics, and concepts coinciding often occur in music business too. Do take time to nurture your idea but you don’t have to wait for it to be 100% perfected.  Maybe it’s when you launch that this brilliant idea of yours would make more sense and meaning.

Your fans expect your best

Your fan base belongs to a unique group of individuals, who not only like YOUR MUSIC, but music similar to your music.

Take off your artist hat for a minute and put on your business hat. The truth is: Your fans are your customers. They give you money to support your creative livelihood.

Your fans want you.   They want more of you.  All you need is to just make it timely, but do not starve them of your music.  Also, do not leave your fans at the mercy of competitors, don’t even leave a space.     Yes they would be aware of competitors’ works (especially those who do music similar to yours) but you should already have this unique space in their hearts and mind that would be very difficult to replace.     And how do you do that?  It’s via fan satisfaction just like customer satisfaction and fan relationship just like customer relationship.

Nevertheless, your music is still the basic reason why your fans are your fans and why you’ll gather more fans.    So why hoard it?
