The 6 Goldie rule to recognition

Love or hate her, Goldie is very well recognized not only in the Nigerian music industry but also all over Africa. The golden diva has managed to carve a niche for herself.  The Goldie b rand is one that has grown over the years.  It has been through lots of criticism from music critics and even the music market itself, yet Goldie thrives.

Here are a few ‘goldie’ rules that one can apply to move from obscurity to recognition.

DECIDE AND START: Be determined. Are you ready?

When Goldie came on the scene in the early 2000s she seemed so determined and ready to go. We were like is she for real? A lot sneered at her singing, her dancing, and even her long eyelashes and gold hair; thinking ‘will she last?’

GET ATTENTION: And yes she got attention-whether people liked what they heard/saw or not.

Be known.  Be noticed- whatever you do. She was known for something even though she initially didn’t get a high acceptance rate.

BELIEVE!  Believe in yourself. Be confident. Do not hesitate to serve what you cook. Goldie seriously believed in herself and what she had for the music market. She kept on going back to the studio to improve on her music and to find better ways to present them to the public. She had made up her mind to do music and there was no turning back.

Believe in your craft – in the little that you have and make the most of it. Goldie has always tried in her own way to make the most of the talent she had.

Goldie is not the most talented music artiste but she has always believed in what she has to offer and she does not hesitate to offer it.

COLLABORATE
Work with the best to give the best. Get the best hands on board. The best does not necessarily mean the most expensive. In other terms this actually means ‘don’t settle for less/ cheap/ no good’

Goldie has always worked with the best hands whether music producer or music video director. We can tell from her new ‘work’ that what has been churned out is a product of a team of people- professionals to be precise.

IMPROVE and add value to yourself and your music. Clean up; if possible re-brand and rearrange.
Goldie eventually had a better come back. She came back with better looks, better and more appealing songs, more attractive persona, better fan relationship and many more.

FOCUS ON YOUR FANS- you know you are in business for them. Understand your fans and what they want. Goldie has tried in as many ways she could to show that she loves her fans and to prove that she does her music to please them.

Go the extra mile to please your fans. Goldie always goes the extra mile to make things happen in her music career. Take for example her performances (whether on stage or her music videos).

Give your fans the best
As explained above, Goldie works with the best because she wants the best outcome so her fans can get the best.

Value your fans- one fan is like one customer. In business, one customer does matter and this customer is king. We have often times seen her show that each and every one of her many fans matter to her.
