It is about
time you stopped complaining about people who you think can’t sing but whose
music is making air waves. The thing is if he is accepted, then you will be
accepted since you can not just sing but can also do good music. You just need
to find out what it is you need to do to get across, to be known, to be
embraced and to be bought.
If you bring
out your music and the response is not satisfactory, that doesn’t mean you
should quit music or turn into a chronic critic. Also, it does not mean you should put
yourself into the same box they’ve put their music into where the final result
is to be trapped. It just means you
should learn the language of the market/fans and communicate your thing to
them. If you ‘voice’ out your sound consistently and appropriately, your fans
will find you.
One of the
reasons why someone who can’t sing to save his life will package his crap and
launch it confidently is because he has heard crap on radio, he has seen crap packaged
in a nice music video and played on TV and he has seen some people dance to
this crap music. So, somehow he believes
his crap would sell. Hence, he goes forth with his crappish- dogged and determined.
Nevertheless,
you can sing and you have good music.
Do not
despair. Do not be discouraged.
First, you need
to start with what you have and continue with what makes you unique.
Let me let you
in one secret.
‘The more the
crap, the more the real ish will be evident.’
You could eventually
shine in the midst of the dullness. You
will be ‘one’ distinguished artiste amongst the many usual ones.
It is possible
to be different, serve good music and still make money.
All you have to
do is to find your uniqueness, study the market, and find the best way to
communicate your music and message to your fans.
They
(Crap Limited) cannot kill good
music. It is impossible. Fans are not zombies.
No
one is an enemy of good music. If your
music appeals, they will sing to it, dance to it and eventually pay for it.
So,
quit hating on the grinch that stole good music, and put all that aggression
into making your music known and acceptable.
