Life after fame; Save for it

There is a life after fame and you need to save for it.

It is unwise to think you will be on the scene for ever. A brand (even music brands) has a lifespan and it dies too.  This means there is a duration where which, you and your music will be loved and demanded for- and this is why we have the terms ‘old school’ and ‘new school’. The question here is when you are termed ‘old school’, what would be your status then? All we are saying that if you plan your finances well as a music artiste, you don’t have to move from ‘grace to grass’ as it is popular among talented people.

If you are an active music person, you can start to build your brand while you simultaneously prepare for your future.  It is mandatory that you have a plan- an out plan; yes a retirement plan.

You may just be lucky to have 3 hit albums or may be just one, but then how do u make most of all the opportunities that you have at hand? It is sad that some talented people have had to die broke and people always wonder where those people who grooved with them were, when they needed help.

You are responsible for your own life as music artistes and you have to take your future into your own hands by preparing for it especially if you are earning already.  If you don’t prepare, then you have created room for failure.

Like I mentioned earlier, not all music brands have long life.  Some music brands outlive their creator while some just sizzle off in their lifetime.  Artistes keep making the mistake of hoping that their music and their brand will save their azz in the day of trouble so they don’t prepare for it but the truth is: change is constant- in everything. And change is inevitable when it comes to music and the music industry, especially this music industry of ours.

I recommend you sit and consider the future, if you have not.
